PMU-B joins in pushing research at the Frontier BCG and building a network Aiming to drive the count

PMU-Battended the workshop on “BCG Frontier Research Forum: Sharing Visions for the Future of Personalized Medicine” at Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Samut Prakan.

On December 7th , 2022, the executives and staff of PMU-B participated in the "BCG Frontier Research Forum: Sharing Visions for the Future of Personalized Medicine" workshop organized by the Technology and Knowledge Development Cluster Coordinator vanguard BCG at the Learning and Research Center Building in honor of His Majesty the King Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan. This conference aims to develop and drive research in personalized medicine and create a collaborative network between stakeholders from government and private organizations, associations, and experts in related fields in research and development of knowledge from the utilization of health data Including developing manpower that will help propel Thailand's personalized medicine.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Sompong Klaynongsuang, Director of PMU-B, gave an opening speech and clarified the objectives of the meeting in the field of personalized medicine to meet the public health needs of the country and created a new industry in the field of medicine It is also a challenging issue that will continue to lead to the health technology economy.

This meeting has a special lecture to provide information, concepts and perspectives on the development of personalized medicine in Thailand with 3 stakeholder representatives as follows:

1. Dr. Nara Decharin, Executive Vice President, B. Grimm Joint Venture Holding Company Limited, gave a lecture on the topic “The future of personalized medicine and the role of the private sector –a pharmaceutical industry perspective”.

2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Praphat Suriyapol, Deputy Dean for Information and Director of the Center for Information and Data Innovation, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Lecture on the topic “Big Data and Digital Health towards Personalized Medicine”

3. Prof. Dr. Wipor Wipraksit, M.D., Department of Pediatrics Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, National Outstanding Scientist of the Year 2022 and the position of Executive Chairman of At-Jeans Co., Ltd. gave a lecture on the topic “Driving Discoveries into Innovation: Lessons learned from the Scientist-Enterpreneur”

There will also be workshops with stakeholders on 3 topics:

1. Bioinformatics/Genomic medicine

2. Novel therapy (ATMP, Drug)

3. Biomarker-Microbiome-Nutrigenomic-Digital Health
